Cedric Benson was placed on the IR by the Green Bay Packers in October, but given the "designated to return" tag, as the Packers hope Benson can return for the stretch run.
"We feel he can come back," coach Mike McCarthy told the Associated Press at the time.
It may be too late.
Benson has been laying down tracks at strip clubs in Austin, Texas, under the name DJ World Peace (No word on whether Metta has hit him up for blatant name-jacking).
Benson is eligible to come off the IR for Week 14, and would be eligible to earn all of the $825,000 in his contract if he is able to play. But that's a matter of whether he comes back at all. In his words:
Everything is clear to me! The world is full of energy! I’m making my way to be apart of history! So let’s all get together and dance the night away!!When u got love the worlds a better place! When u got love people will speak on it! When u got love u make history! When u got love ur SOUL is FREE!!Djworldpeace
Yo, that's some language straight outta the groupies on Almost Famous. Benson has always been a bit iffy when it comes to football, though (now, laughably) declared he has grown up since those days. It'll be interesting to see whether that 800 large will be enough to make him put his soul back in a box.
