Bryan Cranston May Trade In Breaking Bad’s Meth For Lex Luthor’s Kryptonite

As meth drug kingpin, Walter White, Bryan Cranston's bald head is his defining physical feature. His portrayal as a meek teacher turned drug lord on Breaking Bad is one of the most villainous characters in television history.

Naturally, those factors have people pining to play arguably the most iconic villain in comic book history. The Man of Steel sequel hasn't cast a Batman yet, but Breaking Bad fanatics are nominating Cranston for the role of Superman's greatest arch enemy. When word reached Cranston that fans were clamoring for him to play Luthor, Cranston who voiced Commissioner Gordon in 2011's animated cartoon Batman: Year One.

Give me a call," the grinning actor told Metro. "I like Lex Luthor. I think he's misunderstood. He's a loveable, sweet man."

One of the issues I've always had with film portrayals of Luthor is the one-dimensional portrayals. Smallville's development of Luthor was the best I've ever seen, but I would not be opposed to Cranston playing a darker, more Lex.
