After months of speculation, negotiations and coverups Bud Selig finally handed down it's most devastating punishment to New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez since Pete Rose was banned for life by Fay Vincent. While A-Rod avoided a lifetime ban, the 211 game suspension, which will run through 2015 is a death nail on any remaining hopes Rodriguez had on becoming baseball's new home run king.. Selig said Rodriguez's punishment will begin Thursday and cover the postseasons, and was covered under the drug program's protocols and Rodriguez's "use and possession of numerous forms of prohibited performance-enhancing substances, including testosterone and human growth hormone, over the course of multiple years.
