Blake Griffin Out Indefinitely with Quad Injury

Blake Griffin will miss time after partially tearing his left quadriceps during the Clippers 94-84 win against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day

“Tough break,” Clippers coach Doc Rivers told Yahoo Sports. “Blake was playing so well. We just have to keep pushing forward until his return.”

Griffin is averaging 23.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and five assists per game. His loss couldn’t come at a worse time, as the Clips’ sit at 18-13, good for fourth in the west. Forwards Josh Smith and Paul Pierce will be counted on to step up their production in Griffin’s absence.
