The power and excitement of college football continues to grow this season.
In the cold and snow at Camp Randal Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, junior star running back Melvin Gordon ran himself into the record books on a 26 yard TD run at the end of the third quarter, which would be the last time he touched the ball in the game. With that run, Gordon totaled 408 yards rushing and four touchdowns against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, breaking the single game rushing record of 406 yards set by TCU's LaDainian Tomlinson in 1999. Gordon rushed 25 times, averaging 16.3 yards per carry, another amazing statistic to add to his career day.
Said Gordon after the game "Yeah, I didn't even know I was close to the record. I was kind of just running away." And running away is what he did against what had been a pretty tough Cornhusker defense. LT gave the star, and what looks to be the Heisman favorite, a shout out on Twitter:

This performance, along with Minnesota's loss to Ohio State earlier in the day, gave the Badgers' sole possession of first place in the West division of the Big 10.
