The Houston Texans have lost Arian Foster for the season after the running back tore his achilles in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s humiliating 44-26 loss to the struggling Miami Dolphins.
Foster had struggled mightily this season, gaining only 163 yards on 63 carries, averaging a career low 2.6 yards per carry.
The running back has dealt with several nagging injuries over the years and now faces his first serious injury since 2013, when he was forced out of action due to a back injury which required surgery.
The Houston Texans have embodied Murphy’s law this season. Suffering loss after loss, their backup QB misses the team flight and now this? Is it simply bad luck, or is the Hard Knocks curse rearing it’s ugly head?
Despite all of this, Houston stands at 2-5 and still has an outside chance in the NFL’s AFC South thanks to horrendous play from their division rivals. The task of turning around their season is extremely difficult without their best offensive weapon though.
