The green light was given to the fourth installment of Eddie Murphy's Beverly Hills Cop action-comedy franchise that first began back in 1984. Many recall the Beverly Hills Cop franchise as being among the funniest and most lucrative of Murphy’s entire storied career. Entertainment Weekly reports that Paramount Pictures is aiming for Beverly Hills Cop 4 to be released March 25, 2016.
Brett Ratner will direct and a script is being written by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec of Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol. Murphy will of course return as Axel Foley. But there's no definitive word yet on who will round out the cast. Theresa Randle and John Ashton are rumored to be involved with the project.
