As he continues his quest to dominate the light heavyweight division, this is the final road to the dream that Ward has of being a multi-weight class champion.

After taking home a gold medal in the 2004 Athens Olympics, he swiftly began dominating the super middleweight division, culminating in a Super 6 World Boxing Classic victory over Mikkel Kessler that netted him the WBA super middleweight championship.

After running through top tier talent like Carl Froch, Sakio Bika and Chad Dawson, Ward tried to secure a bout with unified Middleweight champion, Gennady GGG Golovkin but to no avail. Since then he has moved up to light heavyweight to challenge the greats in the higher weight classes.

Ive been in pre-camp mode for weeks now following my last fight, and have been mentally preparing for the work ahead of me, said Ward via statement. Its an exciting feeling to be in full camp mode, where I can dedicate 100% of my mind, body and soul to the battle I am about to face.

Since the move, Ward has had impressive victories over Sullivan Barrera and Alexander Brand, with the latter netting him the WBO International light heavyweight belt.

This is a fight that we have been working up to since last spring,” said Ward. “The game plan hasnt changed. I am here and I am ready.
