Reggie Wayne called it quits earlier this year so it was only a matter of time before fellow Canes’ receiver Andre Johnson decided to hang up his cleats. Well today that day has come.
The 14 year NFL veteran, a man who made big play after big play without ever saying much, has decided to call it a career today according to the Titans.

Johnson, 35, was a seven time pro bowler who spent the first 12 years of his career with the Houston Texans. As the third pick of the Texans in the 2003 draft, Johnson would go on to have 1,012 receptions for 13,597 yards and 64 TDs for the team, all franchise records. Last year Johnson played with the Colts and then moved to the Titans this year, where he had nine catches for 85 yards and 2 TDs in eight games. In his career, Johnson amassed 1,062 catches for 14,185 yards and 70 TDs. He also had seven 1,000 yard seasons and four seasons with at least 1,400 yards receiving.
Said Titans GM Jon Robinson in a statement: Going back to his days at the University of Miami, Andre was one of the most impressive wide receivers Ive scouted. He had a professional approach to the game both on and off the field and in my opinion is one of the best to have played the game. I enjoyed getting to know and work with him in his time with our team. He certainly contributed to this team making the game-winning catch at Detroit and his daily interaction with the young wide receivers. We wish him nothing but the best moving forward in whatever endeavors he chooses.
According to Pro Football Talk, “Johnson will be a candidate for the Pro Football Hall of Fames class of 2022.”
