Friday, Film Life’s 18th Annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF), announced its official lineup of film screenings in which Screen Gems’ Think Like A Man Too, will serve as the Festival’s Opening night film. Closing the festival on June 22 is the world premiere of Spike Lee‘s Kickstarter-funded project, Da Sweet Blood Of Jesus. While director Tate Taylor and cast members of the James Brown biopic Get On Up will make an appearance at ABFF. The film stars Chadwick Boseman, Octavia Butler, and Viola Davis.
Taking place in New York City from June 19-22, ABFF will include informative Master Classes, Panels, Film Screenings and meet and greets with celebrity attendees. Other festival highlights include Bill Duke’s Actors Boot Camp-a 2-day scene study class that runs Friday, June 20 through Saturday, June 21; How to Avoid The Pitfalls of Producing-which takes place June 20; Writing for Television on June 20; and Robert Townsend’s “The Ultimate Pitch” on June 21. These are but a few of the many classes and seminars that will occur throughout the festival.
Actor Morris Chestnut will serve as this year’s celebrity ambassador. And author/producer Tonya Lewis Lee will act as the NYC Host Committee Chair.
