Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has had its fair share of moments in which some thought it was a waste of the Marvel brand name. However, the show picked up its pace significantly during the second half of its debut season, especially after Captain America hit theaters. That, as well as the increasing popularity of the Marvel Comics-based films, is the likely reason why ABC has decided to pick up the show for the second season, which will air this fall.
In addition, ABC will add another show based upon a character from the Marvel Comics film franchise. The television network has picked up Marvel’s Agent Carter. The character will be played by Hayley Atwell, an agent who is trying to rebuild her life and career after Captain America’s supposed demise in 1946.
