Touchdowns are always exciting, especially on a a bomb when a receiver outruns the coverage for an explosive TD.
Yesterday fans got to see 49er wide receiver Maquise Goodwin do just that, burning the Giants for an 83 yard TDs in their victory over Big Blue. After crossing the goal line, Goodwin fell to his knees in pure emotion, but what fans didn’t know was what Goodwin was actually going through and feeling at that exact moment. You see, hours before he took the field, Marquise and his wife, Morgan, lost their newborn son.
“I just wanna thank those who’ve genuinely prayed for @morganakamomo and myself through out this pregnancy,” he wrote on Instagram. “Unfortunately we lost our baby boy due to some complications, and had to prematurely deliver him early this morning around 4 a.m. Although we are hurt, I am grateful for the experience and grateful that God blessed me with a wife as courageous and resilient as Morgan. The pain (physically, mentally, and emotionally) that she has endured is unbelievable. Please pray for the Goodwin family.”

The strength it must have taken Goodwin to even function, mush less play, is utterly amazing, and to see his teammates support him in his time of grief was tear jerking.
