Cowboys’ Romo Out For Season With Collarbone injury

After eight weeks on the injured reserve, Tony Romo’s return to the Cowboys lasted only one week.

The Cowboys have announced that their franchise quarterback is done for the season after suffering yet another fractured collarbone during their loss to the Carolina Panthers on Thanksgiving.

Romo suffered the injury in the third quarter and this will be the second time in his career that his season was ended due to a collarbone injury. Matt Cassel will start next week’s game against the Redskins.

The Cowboys have the worst record in the NFC at 3-8, and even the most optimistic Dallas fan wouldn’t count on Cassel to lead them into the playoffs. They haven’t won a game without Romo all season. One has to wonder how long Romo at age 35, can continue to endure the amount of punishment he receives and play at a high level.  Expect Jerry Jones to be QB shopping in the off-season.
