Ruby Dee’s memorial is set for Saturday, September 20 in New York City. And although The Shadow League wonders why the public service for this queen of film and activism is so far away from her death on June 11 at 91, we have marked our calendars with the fall date set to memorialize the legend at Harlem’s Riverside Church.

The service will likely be a massive celebration with colleagues, friends, and family members set to reflect and pay tribute. The family asks all who can support to donate to Hunter College’s Ruby Dee Memorial Fund.
