While Laker Nation is still reeling from losing Dwight Howard to Houston over the holiday weekend, Angelinos are entering the acceptance stage of loss and grief. The Lakers think they have it bad, but Dirk Nowitzki's past two summers trump anything the Lakers have endured.
If anyone should be upset, it's Nowitzki. Mavs owner Mark Cuban gutted the defending champs in 2011 so that he could make a push for the free agency classes of 2012 and 2013. Ultimately, he came up completely empty-handed and the Mavs have emerged worse than ever. Goodbye, OJ Mayo. Darren Collison, get to know Clipper Darrell.
Nowitzki finally responded for the first time since the Mavs struck out in the Howard sweepstakes in just the way a well-adjusted superstar would.
