Shedeur Sanders is following his dad Deion to Colorado. As the Tigers prepare for next weekend’s Celebration Bowl, Shedeur will be under center. But after seeing him don a CU hat and attend a CU basketball game, how will his JSU teammates and fan base embrace him?

With the team looking to get that elusive de facto Black college football national championship, all eyes will be on Shedeur, his teammates and the rabid JSU fanbase. The belief is they’ll still be fine with him and will support him because he’s their QB for at least one more game. Just like Coach Prime is their coach for one more game.
Sanders Has Led The Team To Back-To-Back SWAC Titles
The youngest of Coach Prime’s sons joined the Tigers as a four-star prospect in the class of 2021. He became the starter as a true freshman, leading the team to an 11-2 record, SWAC championship and an appearance in the Celebration Bowl. In his freshman season he passed for over 3,200 yards, 30 touchdowns and eight interceptions. For his efforts he was awarded the Jerry Rice Award, given annually to the top freshman in FCS.
He was even better as a sophomore, leading the Tigers to a perfect 12-0 record ahead of next week’s Celebration Bowl, passing for nearly 3,400 yards, 36 touchdowns and just six interceptions. Last week he was named SWAC Offensive Player of the Year, an award his dad lobbied for him to receive as a freshman.
Now he’ll suit up with his Tigers teammates one more time, and then he’s headed to Boulder to lead the Buffaloes offense. Dad already told the team that Shedeur is their QB.

Team Defends Coach Prime Amid Backlash For Leaving JSU
Deion leaving JSU for Colorado has had its share of detractors. One being former ESPN analyst Bomani Jones, who has strong opinions on the move, and he let them be known during an interview on CNN.

But the team seems OK with it, and some of its players even spoke up for their coach.
Senior defensive back Isaiah Bolden had this to say about Coach Prime and the move.
“I don’t understand why people don’t see the positive. Coach Prime came out of his pocket to build a locker room. … He did what he said he was going to do. He put HBCUs on the map in my opinion.”
From the sound of it, the team is embracing Coach Prime, which in retrospect makes you believe they’re doing the same as pertains to Shedeur. Hopefully, the fans feel the same way, even if losing both does sting. Deion leaving meant he was taking his QB, that’s part of the reason he accepted the job, he has his field general for at least the two seasons in Boulder.
