Ex-NBA player Lamar Odom was rumored to be in a relationship with transgender actress and model Daniiellè Alexis. The model’s Instagram account features pictures of the two together, suggesting that they certainly know each other. But sources close to Odom say he and the model are just friends.
The internet detectives seem convinced the two are an item because they appear cozy in a few photos and Alexis captioned one of them “One of the most beautiful humans I’ve met.”
Alexis posted a cryptic message on her Instagram stories regarding the report that they are just friends.
“FYI No, myself nor Lamar did not speak to TMZ today. So no…nothing new here…nothing confirmed just gossip!!”
Odom and Alexis allegedly met in June in Los Angeles, while Odom was in town for the BET Awards. The two reportedly exchanged numbers, began a friendship, and talked about the entertainment industry.
If Odom and Alexis are of mutual support to each other, that is great. If they are more than friends and that’s what they both want, that’s great too. The only reason people care about this is because Alexis is transgender and society is obsessed with sex and the sexuality of others.
Odom, aside from being a famous former NBA player, is also famous because he was once married to reality star Khloé Kardashian. The two had their own reality show “Khloé & Lamar.” The couple divorced in 2016, due to Odom’s sobriety issues.
At one point it got so bad for Odom he was comatose in a Las Vegas hospital for three days after being found unconscious at a brothel.
In the years since, Odom has released a documentary, “Lamar Odom: Reborn,” detailing his experimentation with psychedelics to treat his depression and drug addiction. He’s been very open and honest about his addictions and the depths to which he sunk and what he hopes people will learn from it.
“I had unleashed a demon,” Odom said. “Coke and sex went together every time after that. They had to intertwine. Maybe sharing my story and the moments I’m not so proud of is one of the reasons for my higher power saving me. Maybe I’m here to help other people.”
Healthy relationships are a key to maintaining sobriety. Hopefully whatever the relationship he has with Alexis is healthy and contributing to his overall well-being.
Odom was selected fourth overall in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. He played 14 seasons in the league, was a two-time champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, and was Sixth Man of the Year in 2011.
He played collegiately at Rhode Island for one year (1998-1999), where he was named Atlantic-10 rookie of the year. This following a distinguished prep career where Odom played for legendary New York City high school Christ The King. He was a two-time Parade All-American and the Parade Player of the year in 1997.
