The Kansas City Chiefs are set to open their 2022 NFL season with a road game at the Arizona Cardinals. It’ll be the first season that Patrick Mahomes won’t have his record-breaking dynamic duo of Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. The aforementioned Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins, leaving Kelce as a prime target for Mahomes.
As for Kelce, his personal life in many ways has played out in the media.
For years you’ve seen Kelce and his longtime girlfriend Kayla Nicole after games or at sporting events sitting alongside Mahomes and his wife Brittany. While the two former lovebirds split for a bit during the COVID-19 pandemic, they rekindled their romance and got back together shortly thereafter.
Now comes the news that they’ve officially called it quits, and many believe it’s for good this time. While Kelce is preparing for his 10th NFL season, Nicole is showing that the breakup is having a bit of an adverse effect on her.

Nicole, a Savage x Fenty ambassador for music and fashion mogul Rihanna’s line, recently took to TikTok to express her feelings.
“You’re not stupid Kayla… No, I am actually….
Thought I’d get wifed after dating for 5 years…. that’s 1,825 days.”
Nicole even took to Twitter to discuss her having separation anxiety from her dogs which Kelce took with him following the breakup.

It’s clear she thought she was going to do the time and lock down the man and the bag. Kelce had other plans and now Kayla is bitter.
Kayla Talked About How The Two Met: Instagram …. Ask Me Anything?
Back in March, Nicole talked about how her and her then beau, Kelce got involved. In an Instagram post, Nicole gave up the details on how their relationship began. It was revealed that they met on social media like most celebrity hookups. From there a courting started and the two began to date.
“He had been following me and insta-flirting for a few months,” Kayla said. “ All double taps and no dm. Soooo after a little while liquid courage and a pep talk from @iqueenb (something along the lines of ‘WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR’) I dm’d him on New Year’s.
‘Slid into that thang like it was third base, idk baseball so not sure that’s the best analogy, but ya. Anywho …. lesson here is making the first move might be your best move sis.”
That was then, and now five years later the two are no longer an item. So its really the moves in between that count.
Did Kelce Make Her Pay For Half For Everything? Her Friend Says Initially Yes
In May, a story broke that Kelce made Nicole pay half for everything. Nicole’s anonymous friend said Kelce wanted her to prove she wasn’t just in it for the money, so he made her carry her weight financially.
“Travis is cheap,” the anonymous friend said. “In the beginning he tried to make Kayla prove that she wasn’t with him for the money …. so she had to pay half of everything. Half of every date, every trip, everything.”
Nicole disputed the rumor, saying it was completely false.

Looks as if the relationship just ran its course. Kelce wasn’t willing to take that next step with her.
As for Kelce, he’s looking to become the fifth tight end in NFL history with 10,000 yards receiving. He’s also looking to add to his NFL-record six consecutive seasons of at least 1,000 yards for a tight end. For his career the former Cincinnati Bearcats star has 704 receptions for 9,006 yards and 57 touchdowns.
