Tennessee Titans All-Pro running back Derrick Henry copped an insane 100-carat custom diamond chain that honors his career football achievements dating all the way back to high school. The chain is a gift in time for his birthday (Jan. 4) this week, and he has been moved to the “Designated for Return from Injured Reserve” list. That’s a pretty great birthday week.
Henry commissioned Ali The Celebrity Jeweler out of Dallas, Texas, to create the one-of-a-kind piece.

The chain features a large 6.5-inch “Y” pendant that represents Henry’s days at Yulee High School in Florida. There is a VS1 rated diamond-infused Heisman Trophy, commemorating Henry’s win back in 2015 as a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
If — and it’s a big if — he’s able to return and play at a reasonable level the Titans become a serious contender again. Henry’s led the league in rushing the last two years, and despite missing eight games he’s still sixth in total rushing yards this season.
The Titans are in position to get the AFC’s No. 1 seed with a win against the lowly 4-12 Houston Texans this Sunday. They would have the conference’s lone bye and be two home wins from the Super Bowl.
That’s all possible if they have a reasonably healthy version of Henry.

He is the best back in football, and his presence takes pressure off quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Henry’s presence also helps the defense. If he’s on the field eating up yardage and time of possession the Titans’ front seven can rest and have the energy to get after opposing quarterbacks.
But one step at a time.
Let’s see if the Titans take care of business against the Texans and how Henry continues to rehab as he eyes a playoff return. If he’s strong and healthy enough he could be running all the way to the Super Bowl in Los Angeles next month.
A win there would secure his first title and a Super Bowl ring. A nice attachment for his chain of football achievements.
