Claressa Shields is slowly cementing her Greatest Woman of All Time status with a landmark in Flint, Michigan. The street Shields grew up on in Flint, Michigan, has now been named after her.
Spencer Street is now known as Claressa Shields Street. The big reveal came on Sunday via Flint Mayor Sheldon Neely, who announced the news at Shields’ church, Joy Tabernacle Church.
“I could not be more happier today y’all!,” wrote Shields on her Instagram. Shields was also a guest speaker at the church.

Shields (11-0, 2 KOs in boxing) has recently become a two-sport athlete fighting in MMA. She currently holds a 1-0 record in the sport. She will have her second MMA fight for the Professional Fighter’s League on October 27, facing Abigail Montes at PFL 10.
The 2012 and 2016 Olympic middleweight gold medalist has proclaimed herself the greatest woman of all time, and she has plenty to back it up.
The 26-year-old is the first American woman to win a boxing gold medal, the first woman to become Ring Magazine champion, and she became the middleweight division’s undisputed champion.
Shields is a multi-weight class world champion at 154, 160, and 168 pounds. Although other boxers like Christy Martin and Laila Ali have questioned her GWOAT claim in their era, Shields’ body of work makes a convincing argument.
Shields joins other boxers with streets named after them, including Marvin Hagler in Brockton, Mass., Joe Frazier in Philadelphia, and Tommy Hearns in Detroit; GOATS in their own right to the sport of boxing.
