Critically acclaimed director Ava DuVernay’s next project might be her most important work to date.

Fans of Ava’s filmography will immediately glean that When They See Us has a darker tone. It is revealed from the trailer’s beginning that we’re a witness to a crime of severe injustice.

Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Michael Kenneth Williams, Kylie Bunbury, Storm Reid, Blair Underwood and more, we can’t wait to see what DuVernay’s take is on the chilling cover up.

When They See Us will be released on May 31, 2019 on Netflix.
