Warren Sapp Says Colin Kaepernick Raiders Workout Was A Complete Disaster | “How The Hell That Happened And The Tape Didn’t Get Out?”

The Las Vegas Raiders have high hopes this season after adding superstar wide receiver Davante Adams and stud edge rusher Chandler Jones to bolster their championship hopes. The team feels so confident about their 2022 season that they even gave former Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick a workout a couple weeks ago.

While little has been revealed as to how the workout went, Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Warren Sapp says he has the inside scoop, and it isn’t favorable for Kaepernick.

Did Kaepernick Bomb At Raiders Workout ?

During an appearance on Vlad TV, the loquacious Sapp mentioned that he heard the workout was a “disaster.”

“I heard one of the worst workouts ever. I’m wondering how the hell that happened and the tape didn’t get out? I mean, somebody wasn’t over the fence or nothing? Come on, man.”

“We live in a world where you could put a drone out. It’s not like they could stop you. They not gonna stop the workout is someone has a drone up there. You don’t who this is? I mean, what? Come on, let’s run this. They don’t even set up the ladder anymore … Unbelievable.”

Sapp seems to be going off hearsay, but he may have some valid information. For the record, no one outside of the Raiders facility knows if they ever had any true intent on signing Kaepernick.

Raiders Owner Mark Davis Claims He Gave Team’s Brass Blessing To Sign Kaep In 2017

In 2020, Davis told ESPN that he was willing to sign Colin Kaepernick ever since the blackballed QB became a free agent in 2017.

“Since 2017, I’ve told the coaches and general managers that if they want to hire Colin Kaepernick, they have my blessing.”

However, if Davis truly wanted Kaepernick then he would have just made sure the quarterback was brought into the fold.

Guess we’ll never know. The timing of the workout makes you wonder if the Raiders just did it for clout. Or did they really believe he could be Derek Carr’s backup in 2022?

Kaep Reportedly Showed Arm Strength

The former Nevada Wolfpack star, who’s been out of the league since 2017, showed some impressive arm strength and conditioning per reports. CK7’s arm has never been in question, in fact that, along with his ability to extend plays and play off schedule, were the main reasons former Niners coach Jim Harbaugh was smitten with him during the 2011 draft process.

The Niners drafted him with the 36th overall pick in the second round. All he did was lead the team within 7 yards of a Super Bowl win using his arm and legs.

In a 2013 interview prior to the Super Bowl with “The Coaches Show on NFL Network” Jack Harbaugh said his son Jim believed Kaep was the best player in the 2011 draft.

“Great story. After the first day of the draft, (I) called Jim, and I said, Jim, who’s the quarterback you’re going to take in the second round? Promised I wouldn’t say anything to anyone.”

“And he said, I’m gonna take Colin Kaepernick, I not only think that he’s the best quarterback in the draft, I think he’s the very best player in the draft.”

Kaepernick played well early in his career but tapered off the last couple seasons before he decided to take a knee and change the trajectory of his life forever. He’s still very capable of being a backup in the NFL.
