Seemingly inspired by another material-POV song "I Gave You Power" by Nas, Wale rhymes from the perspective of an iced-out Jesus piece on "Golden Salvation" and directors Coodie & Chike (@coodierock @cozah) give us the perfect visuals to match. The insightful directors from Creative Control TV give us a literal view through the diamond bezel eyes of the Jesus piece as it goes through the hands of its owners. The video opens with the necklace starting in the hands of culinary aficianado Jon Gray (@ghettogastro) and shows how hip-hop's materialistic perversion of a spiritual symbol leads him to the fateful destiny Wale raps about in his song.
Props to @coodierock @cozah & @ghettogastro for putting together and starring in a thought-provoking visual that enhances the message of "Golden Salvation," which is off Wale's latest album The Gifted, in stores & on iTunes now.
