Vince Carter has been dunking on people for basically ever, but he’s been doing it on the NBA hardwood for 20 years. Last night, he decided to make it 21.
Yes, the ageless, still high flying Carter has decided to lace up his sneakers for a twenty-first year, signing a one year, $2.4 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks.

Sources: Vince Carter’s deal with the Atlanta Hawks: one-year, $2.4M veteran minimum.
The Hawks have a young nucleus, so they’re looking for veteran leadership to help mold their future, particularly when it comes to their recent draftee, Trey Young, who was born three months AFTER Vinsanity was drafted by the Golden State Warriors with the no. 5 pick in the 1998 NBA Draft and then traded to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for fellow Tar Heel, Antawn Jamison.

Vince Carter was drafted on June 24, 1998 Trae Young was born on September 19, 1998 Now they’re teammates in Atlanta
Carter is an eight time All Star and has played for seven NBA teams including the Raptors, Nets, Magic, Suns, Mavericks, Grizzlies and Kings, with the Hawks now becoming his eight team. As of now, only Carter and the Mavs’ Dirk Nowitzki are the only two players still playing in the NBA from that 1998 draft class. Dirk was selected with the ninth pick by the Bucks and then traded to the Mavs for Robert Traylor.
Twitter, of course, had some great reactions to Carter’s signing. But it’s still all love for Vinsanity!
