Comic book and WWE fans have another reason to celebrate.
Comicbook.com confirmed that Adam Copeland, better known to WWE fans as the (now) retired performer Edge, will be joining the cast of “The Flash” as Atom-Smasher.
But comic book fans be aware that this character will be a villain, unlike the original DC Comics superhero. The description tells us “One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash. His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him.”
The Edge was once one of the most popular characters in the WWE before injuries forced Copeland to retire in 2011. But since that time he’s become a recurring character on Syfy series “Haven,” and a variety of other roles.
“The Flash” season two is scheduled to debut Oct. 6 on The CW.
