This year, the MLB season was relatively void of big storylines outside of Aaron Judge blasting the ball into different zip codes. So as headed towards the end of the regular season, something needed to develop to attract more attention to the pending playoffs, and Cleveland decided to answer the call.
The teams was on a 21 game winning streak, which looked to be broken yesterday, until Jay Bruce stepped to the plate in the 10th inning and drove in the winning run with a walk-off double.
