The Chicago Bulls’ Jimmy Butler wins NBA MIP Award

Hard work does pay off.

Today it was announced that Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler was named as the winner of the NBA’s Most Improved Player award.

The award caps a career season for Butler, one is which he reached career highs in nearly every statistical category. This season his scoring average went from 13.1 points to 20.0 point per game and his shooting average increased from 39.7% to 46.2%. These numbers helped Butler earn 92 out of a possible 130 first-place votes to beat out the Warriors’ Draymond Green for the honor. Jazz center Rudy Gobert was third and Heat big man Hassan Whiteside finished fourth.

We had predicted great things for the Bulls guard this season, and it looks like we were right.

Butler is the first player in Bulls’ history to win this award, which he will receive before game 3 on Friday.
