In a massive team makeover, the Cleveland Cavaliers let it be known in no uncertain terms that they’re sincere about competing for this year’s NBA title.
Cleveland acquired Rodney Hood and George Hill in a three-way deal with the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings, totally re-making their roster for this year’s playoff push. In addition, they sent Iman Shumpert and a 2020 second-round pick via the Miami Heat to the Kings in the deal.

They traded Dwyane Wade to the Miami Heat, where he began his Hall of Fame career, receiving a heavily protected second-round pick in the deal.
Wade signed with the Cavs in September after working out a buyout with the Chicago Bulls. He spent last season with Chicago after 13 seasons and three championships with Miami.

Wade was averaging a career-low 11.2 points per game this season, coming off the bench in 43 of 46 contests.
They also completed a trade with the Lakers earlier today, sending Isaiah Thomas and Channing Frye to Los Angeles in exchange for Larry Nance Jr. and Jordan Clarkson.
