The Nevada State Athletic Commission is getting ready to administer justice, but is it really fair?
The fallout from the post-fight brawl featuring Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor continues as Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director, Bob Bennett, told ESPN as they plan to suspend both fighters for their actions at UFC 229.
The fight, which was marred by actions such as a dolly being thrown through a bus window and derogatory comments towards Khabib’s family, country and religion by Conor McGregor, ended in the fourth round when Khabib caught McGregor in a vicious rear naked choke, forcing the winded McGregor to tap out. After the win, all hell broke loose when Khabib jumped the cage and went after another McGregor agitator, Dillon Danis.
I’m not condoning any of this, but Come on now he had it coming , it’s like the announcers are completely unaware of everything that went down with the bus, the dolly, the glass, the injured UFC fighters, the accusation towards his manager and Team I get it kind of ruined PPV, and the subsequent lawsuits. #UFC229 #conormcgregor #khabib ??♂️ but if you a big mouth like that you better be ready for Retaliation just saying.. GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS..

Everyone knew there would be consequences and today we learned of some of them. According to ESPN.com, “the commission will issue their suspensions on Oct. 15 pending a hearing on Oct. 24 when the commission chairman and his team will vote on whether to suspended the fighters indefinitely. Both fighters are likely facing sanctions for their actions inside the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday with Nurmagomedov coming for starting the brawl and McGregor for attempting to jump the cage and join the fracas.”
As of today, McGregor has been paid, Khabib still hasn’t received his purse and a bout between Zubaira Tukhugov (Team Khabib) and Artem Lobov (Team McGregor) has been cancelled. In addition, Khabib has threatened to leave UFC is Tukhugov is released from the company due to being involved in the chaos at UFC 229.
I would like to address @ufc Why didn’t you fire anyone when their team attacked the bus and injured a couple of people? They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family? Why do you have to punish my team, when both teams fought. If you say that I started it, then I do not agree, I finished what he had started. In any case, punish me, @zubairatukhugov has nothing to do with that. If you think that I’ll keep silent then you are mistaken. You canceled Zubaira’s fight and you want to dismiss him just because he hit Conor. But don’t forget that it was Conor who had hit my another Brother FIRST, just check the video. if you decide to fire him, you should know that you’ll lose me too. We never give up on our brothers in Russia and I will go to the end for my Brother. If you still decide to fire him, don’t forget to send me my broken contract, otherwise I’ll break it myself. And one more thing, you can keep my money that you are withholding. You are pretty busy with that, I hope it won’t get stuck in your throat. We have defended our honor and this is the most important thing. We intend to go to the end. #Brothers

More to come on this situation, which isn’t going away any time soon, especially as it seems that Conor has gotten off lightly (again) in the eyes of fans.
