In the immortal words of Wu Tang Clan, Teddy Bridgewater has this message for Jets rookie QB Sam Darnold after Thursday night’s preseason game against the Washington Redskins.
You have just been taken through the 36 chambers of death kid.

All the talk has been about who the #Jets will trade Teddy Bridgewater to… but what if they just play him? https://t.co/4KiBuTVcGJ
We told you Teddy Bridgewater isn’t signing with the Jets to ride the pine. Bridgewater was a rising star with Minnesota before his knee exploded. The dual threat had the Vikings on the cusp of doing great things.
Regardless of how impressive Darnold is this preseason (8-for-11 for 62 yards and an awful pick on Thursday night) and how much Jets fans want him to have Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, rookie success, Thursday night proved that those high hopes are unlikely. He still has a lot to learn and the jury is out on Darnold’s ability to throw out of the pocket and release the ball quickly under pressure. Darnold looked like a rattled rookie when not in the shotgun, in the Jets 15-13 loss to Washington.
Bridgewater, on the other hand, looked veteran sharp.

In the first half against the Redskins, Jets QB Sam Darnold went 6-6 for 42 yards when in the shotgun. Under center, he was 2-5 for 20 yards and an interception.
Word on the streets is that the Jets want to start Darnold and the fans, with all due respect to Bridgewater’s skills and professionalism, want to see the hot shot No, 1 pick hop in there and go. If Todd Bowles wants to keep his job a bit longer, however, Bridgewater’s probably his best option.

You can think both Sam Darnold has a really bright future but Teddy Bridgewater probably gives the #Jets the best chance to win *right now*
The growing narrative is that Bridgewater is pure trade bait, which ultimately solves the Jets’ quarterback controversy. According to reports, Bridgewaters preseason has excited a number of teams who might be willing to make a trade with the Jets.Teddy B has a 73.9 completion percentage and 113.0 QB rating so far this preseason and has shown a rifle arm and the mobility that served him so well before the injury. Reportedly, the Eagles might be interested after Nick Foles got hurt against the Patriots on Thursday and Carson Wentz is still on the mend.

Multiple angles of the hit that sent Nick Foles out of the game. Being reported as a “shoulder strain”. https://t.co/JpuHsMZ7it
The NFL season hasnt started and QBs are already dropping. We know Colin Kaepernick wont be a hot commodity as hes still being blackballed, but Teddy B is one Black quarterback that will serve a team with a solid supporting cast well at some point this season.
