Sister Mary Jo Sobieck Throws Impressive First Pitch at White Sox Game

Sister Mary Jo Sobieck stole the hearts of many viewers Saturday night following her impressive first pitch before the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox game.

The pre-game ceremonies included her notable showmanship and Marion Catholic High School’s marching band. Sister Mary Jo teaches theology classes for sophomores and juniors at Marion Catholic. An Instagram video on the school’s account shows the nun working on her arm prior to her big moment and may I say it panned out really well!

Have you heard the news? Marian Catholic’s own Sister Mary Jo Sobieck will take the mound on Saturday night at Guaranteed Rate Field to throw out the first pitch at Marian Catholic Night with the White Sox! She was spotted in East Gym yesterday warming up her arm. Watch Sister Mary Jo throw a strike in person by purchasing your tickets at https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/tickets/specials#marian-catholic

This makes her the second Chicago area nun in recent years to receive massive social media love during a sporting event. We can’t forget Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt who became the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers face during the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament. Since then, Sister Jean gained massive notoriety and even threw out the first pitch herself.

Such memorable moments.

Loyola has Sister Jean, but the White Sox have Sister Mary Jo Sobieck of @Marian_Catholic! The Sox might have a little help from the man upstairs today! https://t.co/MkQ84yNMjg
