At an early age, his father placed a football in his hands, telling him that it could provide a compass to strive for a better life and a new reality.

Professional and life success is not something that he simply wants. He says it’s something that he needs. An All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2015 at the University of Arizona, where he was on the Jim Thorpe and Chuck Bednarik awards watch lists, Parks is aiming to learn and grow during his second NFL season this year.

His goals of one day ascending to the levels of his childhood idols Ed Reed and Sean Taylor motivate him on a daily basis, and he hopes that his journey from from the rugged streets of North Philly to the NFL will one day inspire others if all goes to plan.
