For The Cleveland Browns, A Tie Is A Step In The Right Direction

The 2018 Cleveland Browns, are the most promising squad the franchise has seen in almost 14 years. That was the last time the Browns didn’t lose a game in the first week of the season. The Cleveland Browns now sit 0-0-1 after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in almost every facet of the game, yet still only managing to eek out a tie.  A fanbase that’s had too little to cheer for is now in a place of optimism.

Though Im not a Clevelander or even a Browns fan, their cause does seem like a worthy sports cause to cheer for as any. Theres the rookie cornerback sensation in the making, Denzel Ward, the would-be redemption story of Josh Gordon, who reminded audiences of how sick he is with an amazing touchdown catch, and not to mention, the burgeoning defensive presence that is DE Myles Garrett, who wreaked havoc all day. All of this backed by Hue Jackson, the dauntless black head coach desperate, yet infinitely hopeful at turning around the NFLs, hands down, worst franchise. Yet, these are only a handful of concerns that surround this team.

Hardcore Practices Are Good For Historically Hard Luck Browns

Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry and the biggest offseason Browns signing in at least a decade, has gone on record as being someone who isn’t down for the B.S. with this HBO Hard Knocks rousing speech. Jarvis Landry on HBO Hard Knocks – Cleveland Browns player calls out players for faking injuries.

With the tie score at the end of OT, the result of a blocked punt, the Cleveland Browns succeeded in breaking a negative record that had them 17 games deep in losing-ness. Perhaps they can get some momentum going in the opposite direction. Am I saying they’re about to rip off 17 straight? No, but a tie is better than a loss. And it’s very possible that the Cleveland Browns are just going to keep getting better, and that this gritty performance was a marker for their come up after being the NFL’s perennial cellar dweller for years.

Its disappointment, a real disappointment, wide receiver Josh Gordon said to NBC Cleveland WKYC. Thats a tough way to end the game. Nobody wants to do that with as much work as everyone puts in with the changes that have been made here. Its better than a loss, sure, but we came in here ready to win. Anything less is not good enough.

Measuring AB’s GOAT WR Status At 30

The statistical terror that is Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver Antonio Brown turns 30 today. As he enters the ninth year of his illustrious career, his body of work is comparable to the top receivers to ever play in the NFL.

Linebacker Joe Schobert added, A little disappointed because it was right there in the bag for us. We had our chances to win multiple times, but we just werent able to pull it off. There is a lot for our team to be proud of, but there is still a lot of stuff we need to work on and correct. We need to be able to take these kinds of games and win them.

Could they really be bouncing back?  How much more productive can Josh Gordon be? Can Tyrod Taylor play well enough to hold No. overall pick Baker Mayfield off for an entire season? These are the dramatic proclamations of next week’s headlines.

But I’m betting the Browns want that old thang back. That “old thang” being respectability. While only time will tell what the square biz is, in order to win, you gotta at least learn to stop losing. So far this season, the Cleveland Browns have learned how to stop losing.

“So, you’re saying there’s a chance?” Dumb and Dumber voice.
