As has been previously reported across the sports media spectrum, Colin Kaepernicks legal team requested access to emails and texts from league representatives, coaches, owners and execs as part of a discovery process for a grievance being filed against the NFL.
The list of requested search terms for evidence from electronic records, and being complied with by the NFL, contains over a thousand documents that include terms like Kaepernick,” “Anthem” and “workout,” for example or some variation.
The two sides must now agree upon a date by which Kaps team can sort through the materials for an eventual deposition against the NFL.
No official hearing dates have been set yet, but there is an expectation that depositions could begin taking place by February of next year.
