Drew Brees is still really, really good.
The Saints QB threw seven TD passes against the New York Giants, tying the NFL mark set by Peyton Manning in 2013 and quieted critics at the same time. New Orleans survived a shootout with the G-Men, 52-49.
“It’s not like I came out today with the intent to break a few records just to shut some people up,” Brees said. “But I think our mindset is every time we step on the field we have the opportunity to do something special. I will say that.”
Eli Manning played his tail off too, throwing six TD’s, but this one was all about Brees proving he’s still an elite quarterback in this league. Catching the undefeated Panthers in the standings are a long shot, but with Brees under center, the Saints have to like their chances to make a playoff run.
