SMU’s Larry Brown Deals Kentucky A Blow On The Recruiting Trail

Andrew Harrison is preparing to rock the point guard position for John Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats. However, he's only expected to last one season before going pro in 2014. For 2014, the Wildcats placed the top point guard in the upcoming class in their recruiting crosshairs. However, on Saturday, Larry Brown pulled off a recruiting coup in his second offseason as SMU head coach by securing a commitment from 6-4 point guard Emmanuel Mudiay.

After a 15-17 campaign in Brown's first season on the collegiate level since winning the 1988 national championship at Kansas, Brown has things looking up for the Mustangs in year two. The expectations aren't as high as they are at Kentucky, but as a result of SMU's coup Calipari must now do something out of the ordinary by switching gears on the recruiting trail.
