Welterweight sensation, Showtime Shawn Porter has stepped into the business side of boxing, announcing over the weekend the formation of Shawn Porter Promotions, LLC.
The announcement came from the Porter Hy-Performance Training Center in Las Vegas last Saturday, hours before the Terence Crawford vs. Viktol Postol pay-per-view bout.
We started this LLC back in 2010 but we have not been active with it, so its my pleasure to announce that I will be promoting and co-promoting fights that I will be on very soon, said Porter.
Porter lost a controversial unanimous decision to Keith One Time Thurman last month where Thurmans WBA welterweight title was on the line.
Many fans felt that Porter or Thurman could have won a split decision or that the fight was a draw. The announcement is Porters first since taking only his second career loss.
I do not have a big fight set up just yet but when I do, Shawn Porter Promotions will be a part of that, said Porter at the press conference.
Porter also announced his first signee in Victor Morales, Jr., an upstart boxer from Portland who is deciding to turn pro with Team Porter after missing the 2016 Rio Olympics due to his age.

Morales father confirmed that he did not want to wait for the 2020 Olympics and decided to sign to Porter Promotions after meeting in the Wild Card gym back in 2010 and maintaining a relationship.
August 27th, Anaheim, California, Roberto Guerrero, (Morales, Jr.) will have his pro debut, said Kenny Porter, manager and father of Shawn Porter. Thats on a PBC card thats from the top.

Referencing the Premier Boxing Champions card where Roberto The Ghost Guerrero faces Daniel Peralta at the Honda Center live on Spike TV, Morales opponent was not named, nor was it clear if he will be on the televised card.
