From Big Diesel To Skinny Diesel | Shaquille O’Neal Details His Ongoing Body Transformation

Shaquille O’Neal has been known as “Shaq Diesel” for years and for good reason. He is a big boy, but the 50-year-old told “Entertainment Tonight” on Monday that he’s changed his diet and has lost 40 pounds.

“A friend of mine called me and said, ‘You’re fat,’ and she gave me this guy’s name, and he did some blood work,” the retired athlete recalled. “He was saying, ‘You can do this, you can’t do that, [eat] more vegetables, [your] iron’s low.’ O’Neal said to “ET.”

Health = Wealth

The world will never get bored of Shaquille O’Neal. The former NBA superstar is always doing something hilarious, or vaguely interesting, and everyone loves him for that. From astronomy theories to being a world-famous DJ, Shaq has lived a fulfilling life, and his next mission is getting in shape and losing weight.

Shaq’s about 20 years too late in fulfilling the late-great Kobe Bryant’s wish for Shaq to lose weight and get in shape. But better late than never, right?

“Once I just started changing those certain things, it dropped,” the 50-year-old continued. “It’s all about eating right.”, Shaq continued.

Apart from this lifestyle change, Shaq noted that he once was not a “salad eater”, but now not only does he devour salads, but he also takes supplements, drinks shakes, and stays away from sodas.

“Plus the supplements I’m taking, and the shakes I’m drinking, the weight just fell off. I’m not at 100 percent ninja mode yet. I’m still 75 percent.” Shaq continued.

Shaq has always prided himself on his physical stature, especially in relation to other big men in the league. Shaq is always encouraging them to use their size and move their weight around to dominate the paint.

The “Marky Mark” Goal

But Shaq’s ideal body type is held by actor Mark Wahlberg and he feels he has a master plan to achieve that look.

“Then you gotta eliminate something that you love. Eliminate it. I haven’t had soda for a while. I gotta eliminate bread and soda, so, if I could eliminate bread or soda, I think I could get the Marky Wahlberg look. I want to be known as the Black Mark Wahlberg.”

That’s a lofty goal for Shaq Diesel, especially because he’s 7 feet tall.

The Hall-Of-Fame center appeared on the “Impaulsive” show with Logan Paul and admitted that he went from weighing 401 pounds to 365 pounds.

Later on the Entertainment Tonight show, Shaq also said that he has plans on losing more weight as well. 20 more pounds to be exact. He’s planning to do this in 2023, and he’s not giving himself too much time either. Shaq plans to reach this weight loss goal by his 51st birthday on March 6.

That’s less than three months.

Shaq even threw shots at his fellow TNT analyst Charles Barkley, saying that his “motivation” was Barkley, and that made him want a different type of “retirement body”.

Shaq also provided additional insight into his other motivations as well.

“I lost 40 pounds,” O’Neal shared. “I need to lose about 20 more, but impressive. I’mma get real chiseled up and do an underwear ad with my sons.” Shaq said to “Entertainment Tonight.”

While Shaq may be testing out some new comedy material under the subject of him losing weight, he’s downright serious about losing weight and transforming his body. This is good for Shaq, and we know that Kobe would be proud as well. Can’t wait to see how he looks in March.
