Roy Hibbert’s postgame interviews are quickly becoming must-see postgame TV. However, after last night’s tirade, Hibbert may want to scale back the candidness a bit. In addition to using profane language to excoriate reporters who voted him 10th in the Defensive Player of the Year, Hibbert also made a “no homo” quip during his postgame presser. Hibbert has since apologized and reached out to Jason Collins.
On a side note, Hibbert had folks checking their dictionaries after dropping the noun verticality in response to a question regarding the reasoning for officials awarding him a charge on the signature defensive play of the night. Somewhere, in a video room during his pre-draft prep Jay Bilas is jotting that down.
