St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey has been listed in critical but stable condition after being shot twice in the head.
Bailey, who was reportedly shot while sitting in a car outside of a Miami Gardens residence, is said to be in surgery this afternoon.
“All I know is that he’s currently in surgery, and I discussed it with the team in the team meeting. We’re praying for him. Our hope is that Sted will get back on the field. When we get more information, it’ll be publicly disclosed through the organization.”
A third-round draft pick of the Rams in 2013 out of West Virginia, Bailey caught 59 passes for 843 yards and two touchdowns in three years with the team. He is currently serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL substance policy.
