Purdue Boilermakers safety Chris Johnson really left it all on the field on Thursday night. After the senior intercepted Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford’s pass and took it 72 yards to the house, Johnson promptly threw up on the sideline.

The Boilermakers lost the game 35-31, but it certainly wasn’t for a lack of effort. Purdue took the lead on Jefferson’s pick-six, but Clifford led the Nittany Lions on a game-winning drive to seal the win.
“Every loss hurts and we had this one right where we wanted it โ a chance to seal the game, one more first down we win the game,” Purdue coach Jeff Brohm said. “We apologize [to the fans] we weren’t able to get it done.”
Maybe Jefferson throwing up gave the game away? No? I tried, puke humor is weird.
“I been tryna eat too healthy all week,” said Jefferson following the game.
Not sure healthy food was the issue here. That looked like a ton of Gatorade or some other sports drink coming back up. Either way, that clip has gone viral and Jefferson is forever immortalized. Though not likely how he wants to be remembered.
Either way, tough loss for the Boilermakers and big win for the Nittany Lions, who have designs on competing in the conference, though they are not as good as the upper echelon of The Ohio State University and University of Michigan. They aren’t as good as Michigan State or Wisconsin either; maybe the Nittany Lions should rethink their goals this season.
“It was very impressive,” PSU coach James Franklin said when asked about the eight-play, 80-yard game-winning drive. “We work on the two-minute drill all the time, and it worked out for us right there. You can learn a lot in games like this, and I’d rather learn them with a win.
“It was a gutsy win. We showed a lot of character. We’ve got to make more plays on offense, obviously.”
Next up for Penn State is a home game against Ohio, and Purdue will host Indiana State.
