PRITTY LEFT HOOK: Muay Thai Fighter, Hampton University Grad Dorian Price

From Baltimore to Thailand, Price is our favorite combat outlier.

Welcome to the PRITTY Left Hook podcast where we get real about combat sports! I promise you that I will take a position that will either have you fist-pumping your coworker in the next cubicle or cursing me out voraciously. I talk trash and get in that ass, baby.

Dorian Price is a true pioneer.–78luChVL–/c_scale,w_600/v1548431697/Dorian.jpg

The former Ultimate Fighter cast member realized that he was not cut from the same cloth as most fighters. His journey throughout the States taught him that MMA can feel like a wasteland of bureaucracy for fighters of color.

Price was the founder of the historic Shine Fight Promotions. Shine was the only MMA promotion owned by African Americans to make it to pay-per-view.

The Hampton University graduate and Baltimore native made the sojourn to southeast Asia to find raw unfiltered fighting. Living and training in Thailand and fighting all around Asia, Price is the rare breed of fighter.

Price has fought in the craziest conditions looking for the most dangerous tests he could find. Famous for a double knockout that he won, Price has seen it all and done it all in the sport of Muay Thai.

As a result, Price is now a commentator extending his legacy and discusses his journey and the racial disparities in the sport and Thailand.
