Phoenix Suns Fire Coach Earl Watson After 0-3 Start

The Phoenix Suns have basically not even gotten to the gate for the start of the NBA season, starting the season 0-3. Even worse, they’ve suffered embarrassing loses of 76-124 to the Trailblazers and 88-130 to the Clippers.

As a result, the team fired coach Earl Watson.

Phoenix coach Earl Watson has been fired, league sources tell ESPN.

In his three seasons as the Suns’ head coach, including this season, Watson had a record of 33-85. Even worse, after leading the team to a 9-24 record in his first season, the team never showed any improvement under the former NBA player, which meant that others had to go too.

Sources: Suns dismissed three assistants w/ Earl Watson – Nate Bjorkgren, Mehmet Okur and Jason Fraser. Okur/Fraser were player development.

But this shouldn’t come as a surprise, especially after seeing one of your players tweet the following.
