The NCAA is doing everything it can to prevent illegal benefits from ruining the sanctity of its sports. In the wake of the allegations of sex, money and academic misconduct being reported at Oklahoma State, Oklahoma’s Compliance Officers are working overtime.
On Monday, they prevented Arizona Cardinals rookie Tony Jefferson, who played for the Sooners last season, from supplying senior defensive back Kass Everett with virtual drugs, crime and debauchery. Like most college students in America, Everett anticipated buying Grand Theft Auto V when it was released on Tuesday.
When he realized he didn’t have enough money, Jefferson offered to buy it for his former teammate. However, Oklahoma’s Compliance Office caught wind of their Twitter exchange, put an end to a potential NCAA violation and even educated Jefferson.
