All good things must come to an end. Throughout Lance Armstrong's fall from grace since his admission of steroid abuse, the one thing he could count on was Nike and Livestrong. For an entire decade, Livestrong became a symbol of the fight against cancer. Throughout the entire blood doping scandal that has sulled Armstrong's legacy, Livestrong remained clean.
Even though Nike and a multitude of his sponsors ended their personal relationships with Armstrong, they remained committed to Livestrong after Armstrong stepped down as chairman in October. Over a nine-year period, Livestrong and Armstrong raised $100 million with Nike as its clothing apparel line.
However, after 2013, Nike will cut back its role as Livestrong apparel maker, but will honor their financial end of the deal until 2014.
