Former University of Virginia and University of Richmond football coach Mike London has reportedly been hired as the new head coach at Howard University. London, who coached UVA for six seasons, most recently served as the associate head coach and defensive line coach at the University of Maryland this past season.
Prior to becoming Virginia’s head coach, London led Richmond to the FCS national championship in 2008.
The Bison finished 2-9 this season. On Thursday, Howard signed quarterback recruit Caylin Newton, the younger brother of Carolina Panthers star quarterback Cam Newton.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound quarterback threw for 3,322 yards with 33 touchdowns and eight interceptions this past season playing for Grady High School in Atlanta. He ran for 1,036 yards on 92 carries with 13 touchdowns.

In the end, Im going to lay it all on the line, London told me back then. Whatever the outcome, Im at peace with myself. Im going to pour everything I have into these young men that I serve.
