The Miami Hurricanes limped to the ACC's regular season title by losing three of their last four games last week. While it damaged their chances of being granted a No. 1 seed in the Big Dance, the Canes are now rollin en route to their first ACC Championship Game in school history. On Saturday afternoon, they were in control all afternoon throughout their 71-81 victory over NC State. The Wolfpack's Scott Wood helped rally the Wolfpack from a 19 point first half deficit, but NC State's defense was unable to slow down Miami's backcourt led by Durand Scott and Shane Larkin.
NC State had the home court advantage in Greensboro, but Scott, aka a facsimilie of Boobie Miles, finished with a career-high 32 points. NC State staged a comeback attempt at the end of the first half and after Scott fouled out late in the second half, but never made a game of it. However, according to ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi, Duke may end up with the No. 1 seed and rest while Miami is assigned a 2-seed. On the other hand, Duke has the toughest strength of schedule and is No. 1 in RPI this season. But Miami has one huge factor in their favor that the Selection Committee should be listening to.

However, all of the speculation of Miami having to "settle" for a No. 2 seed may be moot now that Indiana has also lost in the Big Ten Tournament to Wisconsin.
