Macron Grants Wall-Crawling Hero Citizenship For Saving A Child

French President granted a real-life Spiderman citizenship for saving a child’s life.

22-year-old Malian migrant Mamoudou Gassama was filmed climbing up four floors of an apartment building in a matter of seconds to rescue a kid from falling.

According to CNN, by the time Parisian emergency services arrived, he had already pulled the child to safety.

President Emmanuel Macron gave Gassama on Monday a certificate and a gold medal for his act of courage.

I told him that in recognition of his heroic act he would have his papers in order as quickly as possible and that the Paris fire brigade would be keen to welcome him to their ranks. I also invited him to submit a naturalization request because France is built on desire and Mr Gassama’s commitment clearly showed that he has that desire!

“I like children, I would have hated to see him getting hurt in front of me. I ran and I looked for solutions to save him and thank God I scaled the front of the building to the balcony,” Gassama told BFM TV.

Currently, the child’s father is being investigated for “abandoning his parental responsibilities, according to a spokesman for the Paris prosecutor, and he is no longer in custody. The father will be sentenced in September.
