Knicks Gaming became the first NBA 2K League champions in league history.
The New York affiliate swept Heat Check Gaming 2-0 in a three-game series. Some would consider this team’s journey as a Cinderella story, especially since they collectively made an improbable run to the playoffs. But, Knicks Gaming’s play both on offense and defense showed that they weren’t quite the underdog team people thought they were heading into the finals.

Finals MVP Nate “NateKahl” Kahl slowed down Heat Check Gaming’s scoring machine Juan “Hotshot” Gonzalez to help his team secure the title. Adam iamadamthe1st Kudeimati and Dayvon G O O F Y 7 5 7 Curry‘s tallied points both elevated their team on offense. In Game 1, iamadamthe1st locked down critical threes to give his team a solid lead throughout Game 1. While G O O F Y 7 5 7’s offensive rebounds paired with his buckets allowed Knicks Gaming to pull off one of the craziest come-from-behind victories in Game 2.
“We got heart, you can’t name no team that got better heart than us. More heart. You can’t,” G O O F Y 7 5 7 said.

This finals performance was the best representation of everything that happened throughout the NBA 2K League season, moments of joy, moments of sadness, moments of trash-talking and moments of wild celebration. I’m sure plenty of us can’t wait to see how next season goes, especially with the addition of four affiliate teams.
The Shadow League would like to give a big congrats to Knicks Gaming for bringing a championship back to New York, last time was in 1973.
