Kevin Garnett has been known to have a way with words. Normally, he doesn’t mince them and is very direct with his statements. This time, he went a little clandestine. After the Celtics' win over the Bulls on Wednesday, he hinted that this All-Star game would be his last.
KG: "All-Star Game, for me at least, is a chance to interact with everybody. For it being my last, I got some family coming down. You know me, I'm all about the rest. I'm all about the family. That's what I plan on doing."
Reporter: Will this be your last All-Star Game?"
KG: "This is definitely my last All-Star Game."
Reporter: "Why do you say that it will be your last All-Star Game?
KG:"Why not?"
Reporter: "Because you have two years left on your contract."
KG: "Ya'll don't know what I know."
I’m not even sure what this means.
Is KG going to retire and join the WWE? Does he realize his declining game won’t warrant him anymore All-Star appearances? Does he know a trade is coming and this is his way of saying goodbye? Or is just he just tired of the hustle and bustle of the weekend?
Leave it to KG to give us more questions than answers when he answers a question. Now the antennas of every “insider” are going to be up. KG has knocked over the proverbial bees hive. It’ll be very interesting to see how this story develops over the next few days.
